WARREN, Pa. – There was a whole lot of fun as well as knowledge obtained during the Warren General Hospital 5K and Wellness Fair on Saturday at the Warren County YMCA.

With the rain outside, health awareness stations were set up inside the gyms at the YMCA, which also included kids’ games such as tug-o-war and sack races, as well as the water balloon toss outside.

The 5K race was won by Devon Navaroli (men’s division) and Julie Bojaczko (women’s division).

“We ended up having 42 runners despite the weather,” said Warren General Hospital Director of Marketing and Communications Mary Ridout. “And the Y was gracious enough to let us use their gyms.”

There were 20 different vendors at the event, as well as the Community Blood Bank.

“They were all here to educate and create awareness,” Ridout said. “We had a great group of volunteers and great participation from our community and our staff.”

And a lot of fun was had as well.

“It was tons of fun,” Ridout said. “We had kids’ games, adult games, we got in the rain, we had water balloons…it was just a lot of fun. All good stuff.”
