Ella Mae Spence

Ella Mae Spence, 91, formerly of Warren, died January 4, 2021 at the Warren General Hospital. ‘

Ella was born May 11, 1929 in Oil City, PA, the daughter of the late Merle and Helen Morse Wolfe. Ella was a graduate of Oil City High School and then worked at Warren General Hospital as a ward clerk for several years and then a pharmacy tech, from which she retired. Ella enjoyed spending the winters in Florida, playing cards, bocce, garage sales, and flea markets. She especially enjoyed her family and her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Spence of Warren, and Bruce Spence and his wife Lee of Indiana, PA, and Ella’s daughter, Bruce’s twin sister, Judith Williams of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Bonny Dietrich and husband Serge, Jeff Williams and wife Jill, Jeanne Anderson and husband Chris, Jennifer Spence and companion Dan, Diane Muntz and husband Dan, Tim Williams and wife Cassie, and Emily Spence and fiance’ Gerald; five great grandchildren, Natalie Muntz, Luke Williams, Lily Williams, Noah Anderson, and Wyatt Martin on the way; and a niece Sue Sedon. In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband David Spence on February 16, 2012, whom she married on June 12, 1949; a grandson Jason Spence in 2013; a brother Richard Wolfe; and a nephew Tom Wolfe.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Pennsylvania Ave E. Warren, PA on Saturday January 9, 2021 from 11am until noon. A funeral service will be held at noon with Rev. Jeff York, Chaplain of Rouse Home Warren, officiating. The Family suggests memorial donations be made to Friends of the Rouse Home 701 Rouse Ave. Youngsville, PA 16371.
