Dragon Runners Sweep Firsts Against North East

WARREN, Pa. – Despite a pair of setbacks in the team races, the Warren boys’ and girls’ cross country teams turned in a number of impressive performances against North East on Senior Night Tuesday.

Sam Lindell ran a blistering time of 16:39 at Betts Park, capturing first place by 13 seconds over North East’s Lucas boys (16:52).

Warren’s Louis Flatt finished seventh in the boys’ race (19:03), a PR, while Corbin Reinard was 10th in 20:36, Cole English 13th in 21:51, while Blake Albaugh (24:08) and Parker Mowry (25:59) were 15th and 16th.

North East won the meet, 20-46.

The Lady Dragons went 1-2 in the girls’ race courtesy of Shyann Rulander (20:01) and Morgan Alexander (20:56).

North East won the meet,26-31. Kasey Kophazy was seventh (24:05), Riley Evan 11th and Brady Caudill 12th.

Warren’s Emma Peterson won the junior high race in 11:56, while Leyton Salvatore was second in the boys’ race (11:20), Gavin Heeter sixth (12:05) and Sam White seventh (12:11).
