STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Warren’s Braddock Damore is within striking distance of the leaders after Day 1 of the PIAA Class 3A golf championships.
Damore shot an opening round 70 (-2) that has him in a tie for seventh at Penn State’s Blue Course, four shots off the lead of. Aidan Farkas of St. Joe’s Prep and Wes Lorish of Plum.
Damore’s group featured three of the current top nine golfers in the 72-player field, including State College’s Max Wager (-4) and Penn Trafford’s Nick Turowski (-3).
Damore had four birdies and four bogeys in his opening round and had an eagle three on the 18th to send him into the second round under par. He shot a 37 on the front nine and a 33 on the back nine.
