Commissioners Discuss Adding Flag Poles at Courthouse

June 23, 2022

WARREN, Pa. – Fly those flags high.

The Warren County Commissioners discussed the possibility of adding one or two flag poles outside the courthouse during Monday’s work session and again at Wednesday’s regular meeting.

“There are times we’ve wanted to lower the Pennsylvania flag, but we don’t fly a Pennsylvania flag,” noted Commissioner Ben Kafferlin.

The courthouse currently has flag pole, with the commissioners expressing their desire to fly a county flag as well.

“If it’s something we budget for next year, I’m supportive of it,” said Commissioner Jeff Eggleston.

Bids came back at $11,843.20 for two poles and $6,300 for two.

“Let’s look at the maintenance budget and see if that’s something we can afford this year,” Kafferlin said.

A motion was passed during Wednesday’s meeting to use contingency funds if they remain available or put the item on the budget for next year.
