CLARION, Pa. – The building that houses the iconic Clarion sandwich shop, Bob’s Sub & Sandwich Shop caught fire early Sunday morning, April 9.
According to the PulsePoint app a call was received by the Clarion County Department of Safety (911) at 3:08 a.m. for the apartments above Bob’s Sub & Sandwich Shop located at 501 Main Street in Clarion.
Fire companies from Clarion, Shippensville, Limestone Township, and Strattanville were called to the scene. Flames were seen shooting through the windows and roof of the apartments in the building’s upper floors.
Fire companies were still on the scene in mid-morning Sunday.
The building also housed the Clarion Community Learning Workshop, whose co-director Leah Chambers posted on Facebook that the building is a “total loss” after the third floor fell through to the basement.
