Audubon to Host Holiday Decoration Event

November 22, 2023

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – You can celebrate the winter season by making a holiday decoration with natural greens, using nature in your holiday decor or gift-giving.

The Audubon Community Nature Center (ACNC) is offering two workshops on Decorating with Greens to make a small wreath, table decoration, or swag with beautiful natural greens.

Workshop times are 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Examples of decorations will inspire you to create something of your own design, and you will take home a unique holiday decoration you made yourself.

Directions, cut greens and a few other tools and decorative materials will be on hand to make one-of-a-kind pieces suited to your particular taste.

You are encouraged to bring additional decorations or supplies such as small wreath frames, ribbon, wire, pruners and holiday decorations to aid in making your creation.

Twelve-inch wire wreath frames are available for an additional $3 at the nature center.

All ages are welcome, though small children will need assistance.

The program fee is $16 for adults, $12 for Nature Center members and children 3-15, and free for those two and under.

Paid reservations are required by Friday, December 1. They can be made by calling (716) 569-2345 during business hours or going to AudubonCNC.org and clicking through “Programs and Events.”

Walk-ins may be accepted if there is room. Call for availability after the deadline: (716) 569-2345.
