HERSHEY, Pa. – Seven Warren County Career Center Students returned from the DECA State Competition with a total of 18 medallions.
The competition was held from Feb. 21-23 in Hershey, with 13 local students competing. Medallions are given to students who have a top score in one of the three scored categories (Exam, Role play 1, Role play 2), for both Career/Tech Schools and Comprehensive High Schools.
The following students earned medallions at the state competition in their events:
- Andria Anderson was a 3 Medallion winner in Quick Serve Restaurant Management
- Drake Lawson was a 3 Medallion winner in Principles of Hospitality and Tourism
- Kaylee Lundmark was a 3 Medallion winner in Personal Financial Literacy
- Rylan Meneo was a 3 Medallion winner in Sports and Entertainment Marketing
- Sarah Tome was a 3 Medallion Winner in Apparel and Accessories Marketing
- Gracie Tomassoni was a 2 Medallion winner (Exam and Roleplay 1) in Business Services Marketing
- David Perry was a 1 Medallion winner (Exam) in Human Resources Management
Warren County Visitors Bureau Executive Director Casey Ferry and Michelle Betts, VP of Marketing & Business Development at Betts Industries served as practice role play judges to help the students prepare.
“We really appreciate that Michelle and Casey were willing to lend their time and expertise to our students in order to help them prepare for the State Competition,” WCCC DECA Club Advisor Ryan Schnars said.
