Warren Tire Center Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Warren County Friday

January 12, 2024

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Warren County beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.

The advisory runs until 1 a.m. Saturday. Mixed precipitation and heavy snow is expected, along with 2 – 3 inches of snow accumulation and ice accumulations of “a light glaze.” Some higher elevations may get up to four inches of snow accumulation.

“Snow will overspread the area late this afternoon into early this evening,” the advisory said. “The snow may come down heavily for a period of 2 or 3 hours before changing over to a wintry mix or light rain and drizzle late tonight.”

Slippery road conditions could impact the Friday evening commute and strong winds could lead to downed trees and power lines.

“The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorists to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roadways,” the advisory said.

PennDOT also is planning on implementing vehicle restrictions in the region on Friday.
