Warren Tire Center Flood Watch Issued for Saturday, June 29, 2024

June 29, 2024

WARREN, Pa. – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for western and central Pennsylvania beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

The Watch runs until 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible during this time.

“Several rounds of rain and occasional thunderstorms will occur today,” the NWS said. “Rainfall of over 2 inches within a 60-minute period is possible where thunderstorms train over the same location. This will lead to the threat of localized flash flooding throughout poor drainage and low-lying areas in cities and towns and along roads adjacent to small streams and creeks.”

Excessive runoff may cause rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying areas to flood. Poor drainage locations in urban areas are also potential flood dangers.

“Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop,” the NWS said.
