WARREN, Pa. – Warren Moose defeated Pine Grove Auto, 18-7, Monday in Boys Minors play.
For Warren Moose Ty Bryan went 2 for 2 at the plate with a double and struck out every batter he faced. Also pitching for Warren Moose was Reed Fitzgerald and Hunter Ingerson.
For Pine Grove Auto Degan Peterson hit a double and pitched for them. Also pitching for Pine Grove were Noah Campbell and Jack Abplanalp.
UPDATE: Ground Zero Stump Grinding Swept DH with Warren Moose
It was incorrectly reported in an April 30 story that Ground Zero Stump Grinding and Warren Moose split a doubleheader. Ground Zero, in fact, swept the doubleheader by scores of 10-1, and 11-8.
In the first game, John Papalia was the winning pitcher striking out 7. Jaycen Hornstrom and Wesley Hornstrom had key hits in the second inning that finished with a Mikah Benton triple, and 7 total runs scored that inning.
In the second Game, Mason Gentz had his first ever pitching outing for Team Ground Zero and did an amazing job. Matt Shippee was 3 for 3 at the plate and helped lead a Ground Zero Comeback. Keagan Weissinger was able to close the game out on the mound for team Ground Zero.
