MILL HALL, Pa. – Five Warren County Girls United Wrestling team members walked into Pennsylvania’s largest girls’ wrestling tournament and came away with three golds and a silver at the 2022 Queen of the Mountain Tournament on Sunday.
More than 300 girls competed in the event at Central Mountain High School, including five from Warren County. Three of those five, Warren’s Katie Seamens and Jenna Kophazy, and Sheffield’s Kaelon Connolly, took first place in their respective divisions. Warren’s Kasey Kophazy finished second, while Maddie Dikun gained experience wrestling for the first time.
“The WC girls were a small group of girls but were a force to be reckoned with finishing in the top half of the team standings,” WCGUWC’s Keith Kophazy said.
