MARIENVILLE, Pa. – The Fall 2023 Tour De Forest was deemed a success by organizers.
The event, held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 starting in Marienville and continuing through the Allegheny National Forest attracted 997 ATVS and close to 600 passengers as well, according to Cody Lewis of the Marienville Volunteer Fire Department, which organizes the ride.
“The ride went extremely well,” Lewis said. “We had average numbers from previous Fall rides.
“I think the best part of it was the leaves along the trail were really in good transition and the weather was great both days. The scenery was phenomenal.”
Lewis said 380 of the riders/passengers pre-registered using the new online registration system (editor’s note – yourdailylocal, llc helped set up the system for the department).
“There were a lot of compliments on the registration process online,” Lewis said. “It made the in-person registration a lot smoother as well because there weren’t as many people standing in line on the days of the ride.”
Lewis said all the gas stations and restaurants in the area were busy the whole weekend.
“They are probably happy as well,” Lewis said. “All together, it was another successful Tour De Forest.”
