State Police Investigating Human Remains Found in Oil Creek State Park

OIL CITY, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police are working with Titusville Police to identify human remains found in Oil Creek State Park on April 15.

PSP-Franklin Troopers were called to Oil Creek State Park shortly after 8 p.m. on April 15 after a hiker discovered the remains. Titusville Police were first on the scene and called for PSP-Franklin to assist.

Once troopers arrived, police said, they were able to determine that the remains were human. Troopers called the Mercyhurst Anthropology team for further assistance in analyzing the remains.

PSP-Franklin said the remains are still being analyzed to determine identity. More information will be published when available.
