WARREN, Pa. – The Kinzua Wrestling Club will offer a “mental skills training” seminar for all junior/senior high school wrestlers, at their new home, 200 Struthers Street (i.e., former Riverside Bowling Alley) on Thursday, Dec. 29.
The session is also open to any adolescent athlete (grades 8-12) who wants to enhance the “mental game” for their sport. The seminar will run from 6 – 7:15 p.m. and will focus on teaching athletes how to relax and re-focus during their competitions (parents are also invited to take part).
Most wrestlers (and athletes in general) believe the sport of wrestling is 70 percent mental, yet coaches often spend two hours a day in tactical/technical preparation and dedicate little if any time to the practice of mental skills.
Dr. Dennis Johnson, National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) leadership consultant, and Eisenhower assistant wrestling coach will present the seminar. Please contact 704-989-2520 for more information.
