Have Your Say in Tionesta Lake Master Plan Revision: Army Corps of Engineers Holding Public Meeting July 7

July 5, 2023

TIONESTA, Pa. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is holding a public meeting and public comment period at 5 p.m. Friday, July 7, at the Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department to kick off the Tionesta Lake Master Plan revision.

The Corps seeks public input about environmental and recreational topics for
consideration during the master plan revision process and is being held because U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations require a periodic review of the master plans to ensure they meet current public and environmental needs. The master plan guides how USACE uses government-owned and leased lands around Tionesta Lake. Community input is critical to the master plan updates and will affect the management and usage of Tionesta Lake for the next 25 years.

The meeting will consist of a 30-minute presentation and a 90-minute opportunity for attendees to speak with staff at environmental stewardship, recreation, and public safety stations.

Participants will be able to submit comments during the public meeting.

A 30-day public comment period will open on July 10 and close on Aug. 9. Comments can be submitted via email to [email protected], via Crowdsourcing at
https://lrp.maps.arcgis.com/apps/CrowdsourceReporter/index.html?appid=5c9698bcdda848d4af6011b804d4f8c1#, through
the district’s website at https://www.lrp.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Lakes/Tionesta-Lake/, via drop box at the Tionesta Lake office, or by mail to 477 Spillway Road, Tionesta, Pa., 16535.
