Ending on a High Note

HADLEY, Pa. – The Beaty 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams wrapped their seasons Saturday with first- and second-place finishes, respectively, at the Commodore Perry Tournament.

The 7th grade team wrapped up an undefeated season by going 10-0 during tournament play. The Dragons defeated Slippery Rock in the tournament finals, 25-17 and 26-24 to finish the perfect season.

Those wins came after Beaty picked up a 25-8 and 25-11 win at Sheffield on Tuesday and a 25-5 and 25-13 win against Oil City in the home finale on Thursday.

The 8th grade Dragons finished the year 9-1 after a second-place finish in the CP Tournament. The Dragons went 9-2 on the day Saturday, with the only two set losses coming in a 3-2 (14-25, 25-14, 15-8) loss to Slippery Rock in the tournament finals.

The 8th grade also got wins over Sheffield (25-12, 19-25, 25-17, 25-16) and Oil City (25-9, 25-7 and 25-8) on Tuesday and Thursday.
