Zonta Club Presents 2024 Service Award

March 11, 2024

WARREN, Pa. – The Zonta Club of Warren presented the Warren County Career Center with a 2024 Service Award during the club’s 26th annual Lucky Number Lunch.

The award, in the amount of $2,238, will allow the WCCC to purchase a pair of Reality Works Real Care Babies for its Early Childhood Development program.

“Every year Warren Zonta presents service organizations in Warren County with a service award to help the organization with a special project,” Zonta Communications Chair Marina Smith said in a release. “This year the Warren County Career Center asked if Zonta could help in the purchase of a Reality Works Real Care Baby. The Real Care Babies will provide students with real-life skills in meeting the needs of infants and will assist them in completing their required certifications.”

These advanced infant simulators are used around the world to help teach parenting, infant health, sex education, and early childhood education.

“This smart baby adds meaning and accountability by using wireless programming to track and report on caregiver behaviors,” Smith said in the release. “Tracked behaviors include care events, mishandling actions, time in a car seat as well as clothing changes. Baby includes four sets of curriculum and activities to help instructors create relevant and career-driven learning experiences.”
