Youngsville Drops Showdown With Saegertown

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Henry Shaffer tossed 6 ⅔ dominant innings as Saegertown beat Youngsville, 8-0.

Shaffer struck out 12 and allowed just two hits and one walk, throwing 66 of his 95 pitches for strikes.

The Panthers scored three runs in the first inning and two each in the third and fourth. Henry Shaffer, William Shaffer, and Joe Grundy (two hits) all had RBIs, as the Panthers took advantage of five Youngsville errors. Wyatt Burchill was also 2-for-3 with a triple and a run and Sully Zirkle was 2-for-3 with a run.

Nate Lucks took the loss, allowing seven runs (three earned) in 3 ⅔ innings, scattering seven hits, and striking out a pair. Matt DeSimone and Keegan Mesel had Youngsville’s hits.
