Winter Storm Izzy Leaves Its Mark on Warren County

WARREN, Pa. – Winter storm Izzy wreaked havoc on the Northeast United States and extended south, and Warren County was no exception.

Snowfall began at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday and continued throughout the night and into Monday morning.

Russell reported 9.5 inches of snow, per the National Weather Service, with other areas throughout the county seeing similar totals.

The Warren County School District, as well as many other businesses, were already closed for Martin Luther King Day, but the storm did force a number of businesses in the area to close for the day.

Snowfall will continue to dissipate throughout the day Monday, per the National Weather Service, noting that Warren County as well as areas throughout Northwest Pennsylvania have already seen the worst from the storm.
