KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior Rachel Wilson (Warren, Pa./Warren) wrapped up a strong individual effort with a runner-up finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Golf Championships on Sunday at the Berkleigh Golf Club.
Led by Wilson’s top-2 finish, the California University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team finished third for the second consecutive year.
Wilson tied for second overall on the individual leader board with a 23-over 239 (78-78-83). She shot an 11-over 83 in the final round with birdies on the par-four fourth and the par-third 15th. Over the three rounds, Wilson tied for the lead in the field with six birdies and paced the team with 23 pars.
The Vulcans posted a 51-over 339 in the final round while playing with only four golfers on Sunday due to injury. Cal U finished the nine-team event in third place with a 147-over 1011 (345-327-339). Gannon led wire-to-wire to capture its third-consecutive conference title with an 89-over 953 (323-316-314). Mercyhurst placed second in the team standings with a 131-over 995 (344-327-324).
Sophomore Addi Mann (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) opened the third round with a birdie on the par-four first before carding a 12-over 84 on Sunday. She tied for 14th place after shooting a 39-over 255 (87-84-84) with 21 pars over the three rounds. Freshman Keegan Selinsky (Bolivar, Ohio/Tuscarawas Valley) posted a 13-over 85 in the final round and placed 18th overall with a 42-over 258 (90-83-85). Classmate Madelyn Myers (Smock, Pa./Uniontown) rounded out the team scorers with a 15-over 87 in the third round and finished in 20th place with a 45-over 261 (91-83-87).
Senior Colby Roberts (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) was forced to withdraw on Sunday after shooting a 29-over 173 (90-83) in the opening two rounds.
Gannon sophomore Sarah White earned medalist honors at the league championships with a 22-over 238 (77-84-77). White and Wilson were the only golfers in the field to record multiple rounds under 80 over the weekend.
