Wilson Climbs to Top of Leaderboard at PSAC Golf Championships

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior Rachel Wilson (Warren, Pa./Warren) climbed atop the individual leader board in the second round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Golf Championships on Saturday while at the Berkleigh Golf Club.

Wilson carded a six-over 78 for the second-straight day and holds a two-stroke lead over the field with a 12-over 156 (78-78). She played the back nine at one-over in the second round following back-to-back birdies on the par-five 13th and par-four 14th. Wilson has fired a total of four birdies at the league championships while totaling 18 pars, which is tied for fourth-most at the event.

The Vulcans moved to third in the team standings after shooting a 39-over 327 on the second day of the league event. The California University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team sits just one stroke back of second place entering the final round with a 96-over 672 (345-327). Two-time, defending-league champion Gannon continues to lead the team standings with a 63-over 639 (323-316) and Mercyhurst sits in second place at 95-over 671 (344-327).

Sophomore Addi Mann (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) posted a 12-over 84 in the second round and sits tied for 14th overall with a 27-over 171 (87-84). She collected a pair of birdies on the front nine and made the turn at three-over on Saturday. Freshman Keegan Selinsky (Bolivar, Ohio/Tuscarawas Valley) and senior Colby Roberts (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) both trimmed seven strokes off their scores from yesterday by recording an 11-over 83 on Saturday. Selinky and Roberts, who is tied for the most birdies in the field, are tied for 17th place at 29-over 173 (90-83).

Freshman Madelyn Myers (Smock, Pa./Uniontown) cut eight strokes off her opening-round score on Saturday by carding an 11-over 83. She sits tied for 19th overall with a 30-over 174 (91-83).

Mercyhurst sophomore Isabella Walter fired the lowest score in the second round at two-over 74 and is three strokes back of Wilson.

Cal U closes play at the PSAC Championships Sunday with their tee times starting at approximately 11:30 a.m.
