WGH Updates Visitation Guidelines

March 11, 2021

WARREN, Pa. – Warren General Hospital and Warren Medical Group announced an update to their visitation policy Thursday, including the reinstatement of visiting hours for inpatient units.

The hospital had restricted visitors in November due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases around the region. Since spiking in mid-December, cases have been steadily decreasing.

According to a Facebook post on the hospital’s page, visitation hours will be permitted in the following units:

• Inpatient units including IMSAC, CCU, MCH and Pediatrics will have visiting hours from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. One visitor will be allowed to visit each patient at a time.
• Inpatient Behavioral Health and Medical Detox units will have visiting hours from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. One visitor will be allowed to visit each patient at a time.
• Laboring mothers will be permitted to have one support person with them during their labor and delivery.
• Pediatric patients (age 0-17) will be permitted to have one adult support person with them at all times.

Outpatient Areas:
• Patients in the Emergency Care Center will be permitted to have one support person with them at a time.
• Patients in outpatient hospital departments, including Rehab Works, Lab, One Day Surgery and Imaging, will be permitted to have one support person with them at a time.

Warren Medical Group:
• Patients attending an appointment in a Warren Medical Group office will be permitted to have one support person attend the appointment with them.

COVID Positive Patients:
• Any patient who is positive for COVID-19 will be excluded from visitation. Exceptions will be made for patients at the end of their life and on a case-by-case basis.
