Warren’s Blum Earns MVP Honors at Clarion County YMCA Boys Senior All-Star Game ; Ruhlman , Childress Shine in Girls’ Game

CLARION, Pa. – Warren’s J.T. Blum earned MVP honors at the second annual Clarion County YMCA Senior All-Star Basketball games Sunday at the Clarion County YMCA.

Blum was MVP of the boys’ game, helping lead Team Ruhlman, captained by Brookville’s Griffin Ruhlman, to a 100-86 win over Team Sroc, captained by DuBois Central Catholic’s Alec Srock.

Warren’s Riley Childress and Emma Ruhlman were part of Team Ruhlman in the girls’ game, a team coached by Warren’s Lisa LaVan, as well as Union’s Ally Kepple. They dropped a 79-64 decision to Team Buttery, captained by Brockway’s Selena Buttery, with Coudersport’s Liz Frame earning MVP honors.

Blum led a balanced effort for Team Ruhlman in the win, scoring a team-high 17 points. He had an impact on both ends of the floor, with several emphatic blocks to go along with a strong game on the boards.

Team Ruhlman led 61-39 at halftime, only to watch as Team Srock came back and took a brief lead late in the third quarter before a 7-0 run gave Blum and Team Ruhlman the lead for good.

Elk County Catholic’s Luke Jansen and Charlie Briendel finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively for the winners.

Rewatch the boys’ game:

Easton Fulmer put on a show for Team Srock, finishing with a game-high 23 points, while Redbank Valley’s Marquese Gardlock finished with 12 and Srock 11.

Rewatch the girls’ game:

The girls’ game was back-and-forth until the fourth quarter, when Team Buttery took a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter, maintaining that margin to the finish.

Ruhlman led her squad with 18 points, while Childress finished with eight and Franklin’s Camdon Bashor nine.

Frame had a game-high 22 points for Team Buttery, while Union’s Dominika Logue finished with 17 and Buttery 11.
