STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at 1 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 19).
The advisory runs until 9 a.m. on Thursday. Freezing rain is expected, with total ice accumulations of “a light glaze” expected.
“Very slippery sidewalks, roads, and bridges are possible,” the NWS said.
The NWS advised motorists to plan for slippery road conditions, potentially impacting the Thursday morning commute.
“The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorists to expect slippery conditions as freezing rain impacts the area,” the advisory said.
