STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Warren and McKean Counties beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023.
The advisory runs until 2 a.m. on Tuesday. Wet snow with total snow accumulations of three to five inches is expected. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
“The bulk of the snow accumulation will occur this evening and across the higher terrain, since temperatures at the onset of snow will be in the 30s to around 40 degrees,” the NWS said.
The heaviest accumulation is expected along ridge tops. The NWS advised motorists to plan on slippery road conditions, with a potential impact on Monday evening commute.
“The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorists to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roadways,” the advisory said.
