Warren Tennis Posts Third Straight Sweep

April 8, 2021

WARREN, Pa. – The Warren Boys tennis team improved to 3-0 with a 5-0 victory over visiting Titusville Thursday.

The Dragons have yet to lose a match, team or individual, so far this season and picked up their third win of the year in dominating fashion. Titusville won just one set on the afternoon.

Logan Fincher, first singles, and Wes Kiehl, second singles, won 6-0, 6-0 over Ean Tudor and Lance Enright, respectively. Luke Smelko was a 6-0, 6-1 winner against Brian Rae at third singles.

Max Harrison and Ian Darling topped Preston and Mott at first doubles, and Will Strassburg and Seth Conarro closed out the sweep with a win over Hartskorne and Anthony at second doubles.

“All of our boys played well today,” Associate Head Coach Thomas Pellegrino said.

“We are still improving every day,” Head Coach Travis Myler said. “We didn’t get a chance to thank McDowell Coaches Beck and Heinlein for hosting us for a scrimmage with them last week. Playing the top AAA team left in the district really set the tone for the boys to up their games.”

Warren will face a stiff challenge Saturday when the Dragons welcome defending District 9 champion St. Marys to Betts Park.

“We consider ourselves lucky every day we get to step on court and want to make sure we leave it all out there because we know it could all change in a moment”  “Last years cancellation continues to weigh heavily on us and the boys haven’t let up on their intensity once this season.”
