Warren Players to Present “A Christmas Carol” Nov. 24 – 26

November 22, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – With the Thanksgiving leftovers cooling in the fridge, Warren Players is allowing people to get in the Christmas spirit this weekend.

Warren Players will present “A Christmas Carol” at the Warren Area High School auditorium Friday, Nov. 24 – Sunday, Nov. 26. Shows will be at 7 p.m. all three days, with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

“I think it’s just part of the celebration of Christmas,” said Pat Mulligan who plays Bob Cratchit. “Talking about friends and family gathering together. And I think, also, the story of redemption and hope that the entire thing talks about.”

Several cast members are returning for an encore performance after being part of the same show a decade ago.

“It’s funny, you’d think after 10 years you’d walk back in, pick up the lines and stuff,” said John Beard who will play Ebenezer Scrooge. “The first time we went through it, we looked at each other and said ‘Is this the same music, the same lines we had last time?’ We’ve really had to relearn the show.”

Tickets are $18 for adults, and $12 for students (ages 6 – 17) and seniors (age 65 and older), while children (age 5 and under) are free. Tickets may be purchased online here or at the box office one hour before each show.

“(The audience) can expect to have a good time,” said Kevin Hunt who plays the Ghost of Christmas Present. “It will definitely get you into the holiday spirit.”
