Warren Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident Wednesday Night

WARREN, Pa. – A Warren man was killed as a result of a single-vehicle crash on Fifth Avenue Wednesday night, Pennsylvania State Police said in a release.

According to PSP-Warren, at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, troopers responded to a single-vehicle accident with entrapment on E Fifth Ave just south of Quaker Hill Road. Police said the vehicle’s operator, Brian W. Kibbey, 56 of Warren, “appeared to be in critical condition when first responders arrived.”

Kibbey, who was driving a 2017 Ford Explorer, was “extracted by mechanical means” by Glade VFD and Warren City FD members, police said. Kibbey was taken by EMS to Warren General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to police. Kibbey was wearing a seatbelt, according to the police report.

Police said the investigation into this accident is ongoing.
