Warren Drops Tight Battle With McDowell

ERIE, Pa. – The Warren girls basketball team faced a stiff road test Monday at McDowell, ultimately coming up on the short end of a hard-fought 37-33 decision.

In the process, the Lady Trojans handed Warren just its second loss of the season and earned them a split of the season series.

Tied at halftime, McDowell outscored Warren 11-4 in the third quarter and held off a late Dragons’ rally.

Jessica Hetz, who missed the first meeting between the two, scored 13 points in the victory, while Emina Selimovic added 12.

Riley Childress had nine points and three assists to lead Warren, while Emma Ruhlman had eight points and 10 rebounds, Kelsey Stuart six points and Teagan Paris five points and six rebounds.

Warren returns to action on Thursday, hosting Villa.
