Warren, Corry Open HS Trap Season with Victories

The Warren County High School Trap League opened with a pair of meets on Tuesday with Warren picking up a road win, and Corry holding serve at home.

The Dragons traveled to Sheffield and edged the homestanding Wolverines, 149-141. Corry topped visiting Tidioute, 169-150, thanks to a pair of perfect scores.

Jacob Franklin and Connor Papalia each shot 23 to lead Warren. Aidan Sibits was right behind with a 22, while Mitchell Rehe and Trevor Willis each shot 21. Ben Hoffman had a 20 and Brodie McElhatten had a 19. Jadzia Johnson was High Lady with a 12.

Chris Joblin and Michael Smith each shot 22 to pace the Wolverines. Colby Barr followed with a 21, with Jared Spencer shooting a 20, and Liam Smaroff and Konnor Eck each with 19. Andrew Hoden had an 18, while Peyton Bailey was High Lady with a 6.

Connor Younger and Blake Mitchell each had perfect 25s to lead Corry. The Beavers had a strong all-around showing as Caleb McMillan, Bradley Snyder, Jacob Swartzfager, and Tate Tasker each shot 24, while Tristan Aiken had a 23. High Lady Abbie Northrup shot a 16.

Denny Valentine led Tidioute with a 24. Landon Anderson shot a 23, while Cole McCauley had a 22 and Lexis Drukenbrod and Logan Sabella each shot 21. Jack Zahner shot a 20 and Gavin Dashner 19. Drukenbrod was High Lady.

Corry – 158: Kael Albers 23, Tyler Biondi 23, Levi Merrill 23, Oakley Terrill 23, Kris Wolff 23, Brody Burlingame 22, Tyson Proper 21.

Warren – 112: Josh Letko 19, Gage Shaffer 18, Jaxon Sobina 18, Jason Stillson 18, Tyler Johnson 17, Seth Lester 17, Trentin Anthony 15.

Sheffield – 45: Jessie Horning 16, Alex Marfink 14, Chetty Madigan 9, Peyton Bailey 6.
