Warren Completes First Trip Through Region 5 With Dominant Win Over LeBoeuf

January 27, 2022

WARREN, Pa. – Warren yielded just 14 points in the second half on its way to a 67-34 Region 5 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Owen Becker led four Warren players in double figures with 14 points, while J.T. Blum scored nine of his 12 points in the second half and Parks Ordiway nine of his 12 in the first half for the Dragons.

Warren improved to 6-1 overall as both teams completed their first trip through region play.

“We wanted to get through the first time through the region with just the one loss,” said Warren coach Jeff Berdine. “That was our mindset. It was a lot of back and forth in the first half. I thought we did a good job in the second half on working on some things we needed to work on, cleaning up some of our set plays a little bit, getting Owen Becker a couple easy looks, getting Tommy (Nyquist) a couple of easy looks early.”

Warren, which outscored the Bison 36-14 in the second half, also got 11 points from Tommy Nyquist.

“That’s something we’ve really hounded them on in practice is getting better defensively,” Berdine said.

Nyquist and Ordiway talked about the win afterward:

A total of nine different players scored for Warren.

Ronan Dorler scored nine of his team-high 13 points in the first half for Fort LeBoeuf.
