KANE, Pa. – The Warren boys’ minors all-stars started strong on Saturday, beating Kane 6-3.
Jack Abblanalp had a big two-run triple in the second innings, knocking in Ty Bryan and Benny Matson, who both singled.
Bryan had a strong game on the mound, starting and going 3 1/3 innings, striking out seven.
Warren scored three more runs in the third inning, with an RBI single from Bryan bringing in Clay Cummings, who singled, followed by a two-run single from John Papalia that made it 5-0.
Kane scored three times in the fifth trailing 6-0, but Cummings was able to slam the door.
Abplanalp was 2-for-2, Bryan 2-for-3 and Papalia reached base three times.
With the win, Warren will host Potter/McKean at 6 p.m. on Monday at Betts-Jackson.
