Warren Boys Minors All-Stars Make Quick Work of Potter/McKean

WARREN, Pa. – The Warren boys’ minors all-stars made quick work of Potter/McKean on Monday, erupting for a 21-0 win in a winners bracket game at Betts-Jackson.

Ty Bryan was equally as impressive on the mound, recording eight of his nine outs via strikeout in the three-inning win.

Warren scored 11 runs in the first innings and 10 more in the second.

Matt Shippee doubled to lead off the first inning for Warren, one of eight hits in the frame. Shippee finished 3-for-3 with a walk. The 2-3 hitters in the lineup – Clay Cummings and Keegan Weissinger also reached base four times each (each with two hits) and Lauson Hoisington also had two hits.

In total, Warren had 14 hits.

In the second inning, John Papalia had a bases-clearing triple and Reed Fitzgerald a double, with every player on the Warren roster scoring at least one run.

With the win, Warren will host St. Marys, a 20-0 winner over Brookville, in the winners’ bracket semifinals on Friday at Betts-Jackson. DuBois will take on Punxsutawney in the other semifinal.
