WARREN, Pa. – A portion of the Warren Bike/Hike trail will be getting a facelift.
The Warren County Commissioners awarded a bid to IA Construction in the amount of $90,992.05 to perform repairs on the trail.
IA was the only bid, and the recommendation from the county was to accept.
The stretch of trail stems from its southern entrance at Market St. all the way up to just S. State St.
It has bubbled in many areas in large part due to general wear and tear due to weather, thus the need for maintenance.
“I’m glad we got a usable bid,” said Commissioner Jeff Eggleston. “It’s definitely something we’ve been wanting to do. That section needs to be worked on. I think everyone will be very happy.”
A $6,000 grant will help offset the cost, with the rest of the repairs funded by the county’s Act 13 allocation.
