Warren's Ben Sowa.

Warren Baseball Falls to Unbeaten Prep

May 11, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – Cole Constable and Luke Costello both hit 2-run home runs as Prep scored seven runs in the second inning and eight in the fifth to improve to 15-0 with a 19-1, 5-inning win over Warren.

Rewatch the Game:

Costello finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and was named Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game.

“We’ve built such a strong camaraderie,” Costello said. “The things that we do off the field transfer to on the field. I think that’s the biggest thing for us. We preach the little things. That’s what we do off the field and it translates in the games.”

See Costello’s full interview:

The Ramblers had 10 hits and took advantage of five errors and eight walks issued by Dragon pitching.

Derick Friedman was 1-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs, while Constable also walked twice and scored three runs, Andrew Costello was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs, and Jason Fultz, Brayden Sprickman, Andrew Malec, and Joey Spano Jr. all had one RBI each.

All of that offense backed a strong start from Jason Fultz Jr. who allowed one run in four innings, striking out 10, walking two, and allowing three hits. That also included an immaculate third inning for Fultz in the third, striking out the side on nine pitches.

Ben Sowa was 1-for-3 and scored on a wild pitch in the first inning for Warren, while Konnor Hoffman and Owen Blum had the other Warren hits.

Sowa took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in one inning, walking four and striking out one.
