Wanted Man Taken Into Custody Following Standoff

WARREN, Pa. – A Warren man wanted on multiple charges was taken into custody following a brief standoff with police Friday.

Joseph Armstrong, 36, of Warren, was wanted on charges including burglary, aggravated assault and causing catastrophe.

“City of Warren Police units received information regarding the whereabouts of a wanted suspect, Joseph Armstrong, being at a known residence,” City of Warren Police Chief Joseph Sproveri said in a statement. “Officers responded and Armstrong was taken into custody following a brief standoff.”

Sproveri said City Police were assisted by Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Warren County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Conewango Township Police, United States Forest Service and Warren County Emergency Management Agency.

“Additional charges are pending further investigation,” Sproveri said.
