Virgil S. Maze

Virgil S. Maze, 93,  of Youngsville, passed away Saturday November 28, 2020 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.


Virgil was born October 9, 1927 in Warren, PA, to the late Stephen and Dorothy Nuhfer Maze.  He proudly served in the Navy See Bees during WWII  He had been employed in the Melt House at the National Forge for 26 years. He was a member of the Youngsville American Legion and enjoyed golfing, camping, traveling and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 and half years, Virginia (Stilley) Maze, whom he married May 28, 1948 at the Holy Redeemer RC Church in Warren, His children, Shirley Whaley of Erie, Jack (Cathy) Maze of Whitney, TX, Jim (Charlotte) Maze of Tidioute, Ted (Nancy) Maze of Warren, Tim (Steph) Maze of Youngsville, his grandchildren, Crystal, Brian, Trevor, Tj, Cody, Jodi, Melissa, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Borland and 3 brothers, Clifford, Kenneth and David Maze and a grandson Colin Maze.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.  The family suggests memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
