WARREN, Pa. – The Jefferson DeFrees Family Center Daycare is closed through Nov. 30 after staff members came in contact with a COVID-19 positive patient.

Six staff members attended a CPR certification class last week. The instructor for that class later tested positive for COVID-19. With those staff members in quarantine, the center lacked sufficient staffing to remain open.

Those six teachers are in quarantine,” said Director of Child Care Services Jen Madigan. “That puts us down seven teachers, and we just couldn’t do that.”

Other services available at the JDFC, such as meeting rooms, fitness center, gym and fingerprinting services remain open.

No one at the Center tested positive.

“We want to make sure we’re not contributing to the spread,” Madigan said.
