Twice as Nice

ERIE, Pa. – The reigning District 10 Class 2A girls’ diving champion entered the 2022 championships against a loaded field.

Four of the 13 divers scored more than 400 points. Still, Warren’s Katie Madigan was able to fend off the other contenders and claim her second straight D10 title at McDowell Intermediate High School Saturday.

Madigan finished with a score of 487.80, 16 points better than Harbor Creek’s Reagan Rand (471.80) the 2020 D10 champion.

Harbor Creek’s Laynee Mosbacher was third (435.80) and Fairview’s Katie George was fourth (404.10).

Warren’s Izzy Heacox finished ninth with 341.75 points.

Madigan will head to the PIAA Diving Championships at Bucknell on March 19. She finished fourth at the 2021 state championships.
