Tree ID Trail and Bird Scavenger Hunt Offered at Warren County Conservation District

November 10, 2020

The Warren County Conservation District continues to offer self-guided activities at the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area, and two new education trails have been established along a portion of the main road and on the trails to the left of the main road.

For the bird scavenger hunt participants can find QR codes on orange paper attached to trees along the trails. Scan the codes with the camera of your cell phone. When you scan the QR codes it will take you to a website that will show you photos of the bird, recordings of the bird call, and other cool information. For the Tree ID Trail there are numbered wooden squares attached to the species of tree from the Tree ID sheet. You can match up the number with the tree ID sheet and learn some facts about that species.

Go to www.wcconservation.net for more information and maps of each trail. Information and maps can also be found at the Kiosk at the beginning of the trails.
