No. 10: Sheffield Freshman Foster Flies to D9 High Jump Title

Emily Foster burst on the District 9 track and field scene in 2021.

The Sheffield freshman nearly met the D9 qualifying standard in the Wolverines’ first meet of the year, and that was just a harbinger of things to come.

She took first at the North Tier League meet and the Warren County Meet and was fifth at the Oil Country Invitational.

When Foster sailed over the bar at 5′ 2″ at the District 9 Track and Field Championships in Brookville, not only did she clinch a spot in the state championships, but secured district gold in the process.

It’s believed she’s the first Wolverine freshman to win a D9 title in program history.

She finished 20th at the PIAA State Track and Field Championships in Shippensburg, but if her freshman campaign is any indication, the Lady Wolverine has a very bright future ahead.
