Three Bowlers Set Career-Highs, ‘The Big 3’ Wins League Title at Valley

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Two bowlers set career-high games in Saturday Strikers play, while a league champion was crowned and more career-highs were set in Youngsville Middle High School League at Valley Bowling Center this week.

John Papalia, a second-grader at St. Joe’s, rolled his career-high game 145, 54 pins above his average, and Youngsville fifth-grader Steven Rex bowled a career-high game 177, 75 pins higher than his average during Saturday Strikers play. Papalia finished with a 328 series, while Rex had a 422.

Jakobe Anthony led the league with a 518 series. Tommy Jukes rolled a 460 and Aydin Anthony had a 427.

Team “The Big 3,” Austin Peterson, Ethan Johnson and Josh Walsh, took home the Youngsville Middle High School League championship. All three finished over 400. Walsh led the way with a 477, Johnson finished with a 444 and Peterson rolled a 439.

Junior Savannah Upton set career-highs for both game and series. She had a 195 high-game on her way to a 470 series.
