Theodore J. Kirsch

Theodore J. “Ted” Kirsch, 86, of Clarendon, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Warren Manor.

Born on May 7, 1934 in Nicktown, PA, in Cambria County, he was the son of the late Amandus Phillip and Bertha Lieb Kirsch. Ted had resided in the Warren area since 1967. He was a 1952 graduate of Barnesboro High School and later graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Forestry from the Paul Smith College. He had been employed with the U.S. Forest Service for 26 years as a timberland appraiser, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Sheffield.

Ted served in the U.S. Army as a specialist 3rd class during the Korean War. He did volunteer work and was an avid hunter and had also enjoyed fly fishing. Ted enjoyed pitching horseshoes and especially enjoyed spending time at the hunting camp with his brothers and his sons. He went on several hunting trips to Idaho and Montana. Ted was an avid card player, especially enjoyed playing the game “Cinch.” He enjoyed gardening with his wife, Mary Ann.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Ludwig Kirsch, whom he married on December 27, 1961 in Nicktown, PA; 5 children – Shawn J. (Gail) Kirsch of Russell, PA, Matthew J. (Donna) Kirsch of Sheffield, PA, Janine Brashear of PA, Jeffrey A. Kirsch of Meridian, ID, Joelle Steele and companion, Barry Whisner of Warren, PA, and Christopher Kirsch of Clarendon, PA; 4 grandchildren , Tyler & Kooper Kirsch, Kyle and Cailin Brashear, 1 brother – Norman (Ann) Kirsch of Harrisburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by 2 brothers – David Kirsch and Clifford Kirsch.

A Memorial Mass will be conducted at a later date and time to be announced. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Nicktown, PA. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through St. Joseph Church, earmarked for the school, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA. 16365.
