Susan Mathers

Susan F. Mathers, 73, of Youngsville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the Rehabilitation Center at the Rouse Home.

Susan was born Aug. 9, 1948, in Fort Lee, Va., to the late Harlan H. and Edna Marie (Klakamp) Hartley. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was known for her many stories, her comfort foods, and her famous Christmas cut out cookies.

She is survived by her children: Harlan (Julia) Mathers of Virginia, and Sonia Mathers (Dean) of Erie; two brothers: Kevin Hartley of Warren, and Francis Hartley of Germany; and a sister, Cheryl Zaner of Cocoa, Fla.; her grandchildren: Sebastian, Abigail, Megan, Joshua, Aaron and Liesl; two great-grandsons: Connor and Kane Freed; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by the love of her life, her husband, Frank “Tiny” Mathers, who died on Aug. 12, 2021.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple St., Pittsfield, PA 16340, with the Rev. Nate Fugate, pastor, officiating. Friends and family will be received an hour before the service.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Warren Co, 1 Main Ave., Warren, Pa 16365, the Warren General Cancer Care Center, 105 Lee St., Warren, Pa 16365 or to the Otterbein Church.
