Andy CloseSusan Catherine Lester, 65, of Warren, formerly of Sheffield, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Jan. 5, 2022, at Warren General Hospital with her faithful family by her side.
She was born in Kane, Pa., on Nov. 18, 1956, the daughter of the late John C. Cashmere and Marian K. (Crate) Cashmere.
Susan was a 1974 graduate of Sheffield High School and continued her education at Jamestown Community College as well as Fredonia College. She obtained a degree in licensed practical nursing.
Susan was Roman Catholic by faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzle books, and reading. She previously enjoyed crocheting. Above all else, Susan’s grandchildren were the sparkle in her eye. She was very supportive of following all of their activities.
Left behind to cherish Susan’s memory are her son, Michael A. Moore of Ohio; her daughter, Amanda M. Moore of Erie; her brothers: Jack and wife, Fran Cashmere of Sheffield, Tom and wife, Louise Cashmere of Louisiana;;; four grandchildren: Olivia, Samuel, Anna, and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary A. Moore; a sister, Jerrie Ann Cash-mere; and a daughter, Megan.
Susan’s family will welcome family and friends on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Ro-man Catholic Church, Route 6 in Sheffield with Father Stephen Schreiber as celebrant.
Everyone, please meet at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Warren, Pennsylvania. The wearing of face masks and social distancing is strongly recommended during visitation and services.
