Susan Caroline Gregerson

Susan Caroline Gregerson, 83, of Cherry Grove, Pa., passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Aug. 27, 2021, following a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Susan was born on March 15, 1938, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of Florence Gebhart, and raised by her grandparents, Daniel and Isabel Gebhart.

She was proud to say she was a graduate of the Warren High School in 1956. Susan married the love of her life Russell L. Gregerson on Oct. 13, 1962, who preceded her in death on July 2, 2014.

She was employed at the New Process Company for six years. Susan was one of a group of the first female firefighters at Cherry Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and a home room mother for all of her five children. Susan was a faithful dedicated member of the Cherry Grove Community Church. Susan enjoyed attending church every week with her granddaughter, Chyann.

Susan is survived by her children: Molly Gregerson, Jenny (Scott) Rose and Steve (Carol) Gregerson, all of Cherry Grove, Pa. one brother, Paul (Shirley) Gebhart of El Sobrante, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Norm Shaffer of Lander, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Steven, Nicole, Austin, Emma and Abby Greger-son, Shalyn (David) John-son and Chyann Rose’; one great-granddaughter, Avalynn Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons: Marvin in 1987 and Todd Gregerson in 2020; two sisters: Elsie Chapel and Edith Johnson; and a brother, Russell Mike Gebhart.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Pen-na. Ave. E., Warren, on Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m, with the Rev. Ed Irwin, pastor, Cherry Grove Community Church, officiating.
