Shirley Louise Jewell Bull

Shirley Lousie Jewell Bull, 84, of Route 27, Garland, Pa., passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 202,1 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born Aug. 24, 1937, on Page Hollow Road, Pittsfield, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Twila Bailey Jewell.

Shirley was raised and educated in the Pittsfield area and graduated from Youngsville High School in 1955. After school she worked at New Process until she had her first child. She then became a homemaker. Once her children were grown she worked at Garland Farms Dairy until she retired.

She was a lifetime member of the Garland Volunteer Fire Department and auxiliary. She helped with many events and was very passionate about volunteering there. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, baking, dancing, singing, painting and vacationing at Topsail Island. By far her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many activities. They were her pride and joy and she was their biggest fan. Shirley was an incredible mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death July 27 1997 by her husband, Robert Bull, whom she married Nov. 12, 1960, in Wrightsville, Pa.; four sisters: Gladys Oviatt, Audrey Sickler, Marie McKinney and Charlotte Black; and a brother, David Jewell.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Cindi Marzka and her husband Lee and Debi Bull; two sons, Kevin Bull and his wife Cathy and Brian Bull and his wife Stephanie and a brother, Edward Jewell.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Nick, Nathan and Jake Marzka, Allison (Thayer) Meyer, Lauren, Victoria and Adam Bull; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service there at noon. The Rev. James Moffett will officiate.

Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek, Pa.
