Sheffield Wrestlers Fall at Port Allegany

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Nine of the 10 contested matches during Wednesday’s dual between Sheffield and Port Allegany were decided by pinfall. The Gators won seven of those contests on their way to a 60-15 win over the visiting Wolverines.

Port Allegany won the first six weight classes, three via pinfall by Dayton Sherwood (189), Ethan Tarbox (215), and Nicholas Wilfong (120), and three more by forfeit at 285, 106, and 113.

Hayden Holden (126) and Collin Brown (132) got the Wolverines on the board with back-to-back pinfall victories, but the Gators responded with four straight pins by Tristan Kiser (138), Alden Furgeson (145), Rylan Arnold (152), and Mason Gordon (160).

In the final contest of the night, and the only one not decided by a pin, Sheffield’s Trenton Mead earned an 8-7 decision over Aiden Bliss.
