Sheffield Volleyball Falls at Kane

September 6, 2022

KANE, Pa. – In a battle of Wolves and Wolverines, it was the Wolves who came out on top as Kane swept visiting Sheffield, 25-11, 25-23, and 25-11 on Tuesday.

The Wolverines (1-2) had multiple players record double-digit digs, but none with kills in double figures in the loss.

“We are 100 percent not playing up to our potential,” Sheffield coach Melissa Lemay said. “There is so much physical volleyball talent on this team, but we are lacking leadership and mental toughness.”

Emily Foster had 11 digs and four kills. Kassidy Orinko had 10 digs, eight kills, and three blocks. Kadence Steffan ran the offense with 14 assists.

“It looks like they’re playing scared and playing to not make mistakes,” Lemay said. “We cannot have success until we fix those issues.”

Kane won the junior varsity contest 25-14, 24-26, and 15-8.

Emily Davidson had 7 digs and Madi Connolly had 4 kills.
